Aloha Friday: Water Native Trees w/ Aloha Tree Alliance

January 5 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am

About the Project

The Kuli’ou’ou Ridge Trail is in desperate need of restoration. One of the most beautiful hiking trails in east O’ahu, Kuli’ou’ou valley is a beautiful watershed that once boasted of native trees, shrubs, plants, birds and snails. Today because of overuse and misuse, switchbacks have been deeply cut, killing trees, plants and causing erosion that eventually kills coral and damages Maunalua Bay.

Come out to one of ATAʻs Aloha Friday work days held on Friday mornings and water native keiki trees and shrubs!

What to Expect

  • Volunteer to help water keiki native trees and shrubs
  • Activities include hiking up to 1 mile over uneven terrain with up to 2, 1 gallon jugs. Each jug is around 8lbs.
  • Please bring a backpack, drinking water and good hiking shoes.
