3 years of planning and it has finally come to life. We planted a rain garden on the corner of 11th and Harding Avenues with our Trees for Kaimukī partners.

We accomplished this thanks to the support of City & County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services; Paul Mitchell, The School Honolulu; EnVision Kaimukī, Smart Trees Pacific, U.S. National Park Service Rivers,Trails & Conservation Assistance Program; Hapa Landscaping; Palolo Farms; and everyone that came out and worked hard to build this beautiful rain garden along with generous funding from The Atherton Family Foundation, Hawai‘i Community Foundation, and the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation. MAHALO all!

These native plants and trees that we all planted will not only grow beautifully but will also help absorb stormwater runoff from the municipal parking lot. Mahalo nui loa for all the support! Cannot wait to see this rain garden flourish.
