Through intricate patterns, rhythm and organic textures the artist emphasizes the role of trees. The composition of the tree conveys two very different stories. The artist shows vibrant leaves represented in rich hues of green and bright yellow, growing from a resilient, rough, rugged healthy bark covered trunk. Contrasting with fading grey bark and withered grey, black, dull leaves. The canopy fanning out to the edge of the frame creates a fullness and energy seeming to represent resilience. Through the use of color, line, texture, pattern and rhythm the artist captives the viewers eye and shows how human impact and environmental strain effects trees, yet conveys that the tree will persist... a testament to endurance and renewal.
